About us

My wife, Janice and I started our antiques business in 1990 after many years of collecting, and moved to our current premises in Chichester in August, 2011.

Moving to Chichester enables us to work from a Georgian four storey house and to show our extensive range of items in room settings. Here we hope to offer a more personal service and recommend making an appointment to view the premises, we can offer you a glass of wine or a cup of tea whilst you take a leisurely tour  of the premises and on a nice day enjoy the small courtyard garden with its selection of garden statuary.

We have been expanding our business over the years and are now able to offer the discerning collector a vast range of some of the finest antiques available on the market. In addition to a selection of fine furniture and paintings, we also have one of the finest collections of rare tea caddies and boxes currently available in the world, together with one of the best selection of miniature furniture. These together with the largest choice of Staffordshire figures, plus our many other items makes us the one place you should visit.

We have proven ourselves to be one of the most innovative and progressive showrooms in the country, as on 25th June 2002 at the prestigious British Antique and Collectables Awards were held at the Dorchester Hotel, London and Richard Gardner Antiques was recognised as the best antique premises in Britain winning the category 'Best Showroom outside London,' having been runners up in 2001. The BACA awards have been set up to honour and congratulate the art and antique industries finest. Judge by their peers on both the quality of stock and service these awards are a keenly fought contest.

We have launched our new database website, it is now online and will allow us to offer you an even better service. We are currently still adding all new items and we hope to have 100% of our stock added soon. The website will be maintained daily, therefore you will always be viewing the most up to date information.

We belong to the London and Provincial Antique Dealers Association, and can therefore offer our clients total security in their purchases.
